Historic Port Washington on North Pender Island continues to be an important port. From here the seaplanes bring locals and tourists from Vancouver and children take the boat daily to Salt Spring Island for school. The old General Store has gone through many facelifts and businesses over the years and at this point is unfortunately in one of its’ down times. Port Washington is a great place to watch ferry traffic and other boating activities. A public wharf with limited space is available to boaters.
