The Gulf Islands are renowned
for their artists as well as for their magnificent scenery. Throughout the islands, there are many painters,
sculptors, potters, musicians, and authors as well as craftspeople of all types. The locations of private and commercial galleries
are often available on island maps, and some of the islands have recommended walking or driving tours.

Visitors to the Penders should pick up a green Pender Post booklet from the pharmacy in the Driftwood Mall. The monthly publication lists all activities for the month and youšll be amazed at how much goes on here. You'll probably be able to choose from craft fairs, poetry readings and book launches, gallery tours, concerts, theatrical events, outings, workshops or special lectures. In the summer months, children's activities will also be organized and open air
concerts by local and visiting artists are often featured.
There are several art galleries and a heritage store on the Penders. In addition, several gift and hobby shops and galleries are located in private homes on the islands.
