Boats running under the Pender Canal Bridge

One of the easiest ways to traverse through the Penders by boat is to cut through the canal between Bedwell Harbour and Port Browning. The canal bridge was built in 1955 and has a vertical clearance of 27 feet so anyone with a sailboat needs to pay attention! Even for motor boats the currents through the canal can be fast and while the main channel is quite deep their are mud banks and a few reefs to avoid.
